Email

Is email an acceptable form of communication equivalent to talking on the phone? Does it mean anything if one chooses one form over the other?

Email is another form of communication. For us, at first email wasn't his thing, but was convenient for me. Then he got use to it..and emailed me alot. Now, after being married & having a kid, we still email each other but not as much as before.

I don't think it means anything. I think it's a personal preference, and also that there are pros and cons to both in terms of getting to know people better. For example, you might give and receive more detailed thoughts/ideas by e-mail because there's no interruption, but you also lose a lot because you're not able to have an immediate give-and-take communication, not to mention the meaning added by the tone of the voice, etc.

To me, email seems distant; A call more personal. I like email because it reveals a person's writing ability and thought process. But, it's short and not personal....
